More Final Project Progress

This is my update on my work done for my final project. I just have a few things to add and tweak but it's almost where I want it to be.

Final Project Progress

Here is my final project progress. I haven't continued all of the repeating patterns. I have been focusing on rendering each instrument and then I will build and layer from there. As the drums come in I want to make a change that makes everything feel more dramatic. That might mean a change in the background color or making everything slowly move to one side.

Final Project Story Board and Tutorial

My concept for my final project is a visual interpretation of music. I will use shapes and color to represent different instruments and arrange them to fit their timing and placement within a track. In my storyboard you can see some shapes and colors I'm using to help me plan it out. It's a little rough but it makes sense to me.

For the tutorial I chose this one about how to animate a glowing line. This is hopeful because it is how I want my string instruments to appear in my project.

When I followed this tutorial I used a Paramore song, forgetting about copyright. That was disappointing because I had it all planed. The video is still up and you can hear the song, but I have since changed to a copyright free song for the storyboard and final project.

Project 4 Progress

Here is what I have so far for project 4. I'm not working on it in a linear fashion, instead I am going back and forth between many parts. I want to add transitions to images and more effects to the b-roll at the end.  My plan is for it to mirror the effects of the intro.

Project 4 Storyboard and Tutorial

I decided to make my PSA about waste and the ways I am trying to reduce waste (especially plastic waste) in my life. I will start with edited b-roll of the ocean, go into anecdotes about how I'm currently switching to reusable bags and menstruation products, then examples of how art students may be able to use recycled materials, ending with a call to action and waterfall b-roll.

I want my video to have a mixed media/ collage-like effect so I chose this tutorial to follow:

Here is the result!
